Phil vs. Tiger

Tiger Woods played in his second PGA tour event of the season this past weekend, finishing in 15th place and 9 strokes behind the leader Phil Mickelson. Mickelson won his 40th career PGA tournament, which places him 9th on the all time list, and 31 wins behind Woods. Woods played exceptionally well until the last day, where he shot a 3 over 75, compares to Mickelson's 8 under 64.
Mickelson went from being down 6 shots to being up by 2 in just 6 holes. Charlie finished second, 2 strokes back of Mickelson with a -15, and Ricky Barnes ended up third at -13. Woods was within just 4 shots of the lead coming into Sunday's final round, but fell apart. Seen wearing his usual Sunday attire of a red shirt and black pants, Woods struggled out of the gate. Can Tiger get back to his championship form that he was at before the sex scandal and various injuries? No one respects him like they used to, and many find themselves cheering for the nicer guys like Phil Mickelson. Mickelson lost his mother in the past 2 years, and his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer, so he found many new fans cheering him on against his struggle. Tiger is only 4 majors behind the great Jack Nicklaus for first place in golf history, but given his recent drought, struggle, and increasing age, it appears more and more unlikely for him to reach that milestone. Maybe he can do it, but with his dominance appearing to be gone, Tiger has gained doubters. Lets hope he can play well and maybe win a few, just for the sake of golf viewership.
